Text Messaging Program & Opt-In

Last updated August 5, 2026

This page documents how the ColibriOS text messaging program works and exactly how end users give consent before they receive any message. It exists so that anyone, including carrier and campaign reviewers, can verify our opt-in workflow.

What the program is

ColibriOS is business-operations software for coaches, retreat hosts, event creators, and educators in the United States. Businesses on the platform use it to send booking reminders, event updates, and occasional announcements by SMS to their own clients. Messages are conversational and informational; this is not a mass cold-marketing service. Message frequency varies by business and booking activity. Message and data rates may apply.

How end users opt in

Consent is collected by the business directly from its client, through one of two paths. Both paths require the same disclosures, and no message can be sent until consent is recorded (see enforcement below).

1. In writing, at booking, registration, or intake

When a client books a session, registers for an event, or completes the business's intake form, they provide their phone number and give written permission to be texted. Businesses present consent language equivalent to the following, and the consent box is never pre-checked:

I agree to receive booking reminders and updates from [Business Name] by text message at the phone number provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.

2. Verbally, in person or by phone

When a client books in person or over the phone, staff ask for permission using this script, including its disclosures:

"Would you like to receive booking reminders and updates from us by text? Message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out."

How consent is recorded and enforced

In both paths, the business records the client's consent as a timestamped, per-contact consent flag in the ColibriOS CRM before any message can be sent. This is the control as it appears in the product, unchecked by default:

Reproduction of the consent control in the ColibriOS CRM contact form.

The platform enforces consent at every step:

  • Only contacts whose consent flag is set can be selected as text recipients. Contacts without consent do not appear in recipient pickers and are rejected by the sending API.
  • Every outbound message includes "Reply STOP to opt out".
  • STOP replies are honored automatically and immediately suppress the number from all future sends. START opts the number back in. HELP returns help information.
  • Consent is never pre-selected and is not a condition of purchase.
  • Phone numbers and SMS consent records are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Opting out and getting help

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe (STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT, and REVOKE are all honored). Reply HELP or INFO for help. You can also contact the business that messages you directly, or email us at hello@colibrios.com.

Policies

Our privacy policy (see "Text messaging (SMS)") and terms of service (see "Text messaging program") contain the full program disclosures.
